10 Mar Latest improvements at Camp Illawonga
At Camp Illawonga, we’re always striving to enhance the experience for our guests, and we’re excited to share some of the latest improvements we’ve made to ensure your next visit is better than ever!
New Kayak Fleet We are excited to share that we now have a brand new kayaking fleet at Camp Illawonga. Through our sister brand, Beyond the Classroom, we have introduced a large fleet of double and single Perception kayaks imported from New Zealand. Departing from Camp Illawonga, we can paddle into the Punyelroo Lagoon and explore the Punyelroo Cave. We have also created a new 3 day journey finishing at Gnaut Gnaut Conservation Park near Mannum.
Fossil Finder Boat Our Fossil Finder boat ready to explore at Camp Illawonga! The Fossil Finder is a surveyed vessel with AMSA, it is licensed to carry 28 people and 2 leaders and was built especially to drive in shallow water and visit the Punyelroo Cave.
Aquadeck’s We just had some awesome new aqua decks installed specifically our aquatic time. These floating pontoons are made of a tough composite material that can handle all the fun we’ll be having out on the water.
Riverbank shelters Our waterfront area has seen significant upgrades, with new shade structures installed, they are great for a picnic lunch or as a campsite base.
Improved Educational Programs We’ve collaborated to further develop nature-based learning experiences that blend adventure with education. From wildlife observation to environmental conservation sessions, there’s something for everyone.
Better Safety We have installed AED’s at our Illawonga camp, as upgraded our communication systems, and upgraded all our life jackets to ensure we continue to provide a safe experience for our guests.
We can’t wait to welcome you back to Camp Illawonga and share these amazing upgrades with you. Stay tuned for more exciting developments as we continue to improve and innovate!
